I have a couple of memories. I too remember being in SRA in Bremerton, WA with RMSN Ennis! I also remember RMSN Burris having the crane operator swing me around the top mast of the ship several times after repairing antennas up there! I was afraid of heights and was holding on for dear life in the cherry picker...!
I also remember the USS Kitty Hawk running over a Russian sub on Westpac/IO 1984 and the next day we got to see a Russian cruiser (Slava?) up close and personal. They were taking pictures of us and we were doing the same!
