worked in the Captains & Officers Wardroom as a
Cook/steward/DCPO ,I did 3 WestPac`s - 6th & 7th & 8th
between 75-78 ~ I think about that Bucket alot ! And
saw it decommisioned and towed out of San Diego back
in the late 80`s? But It looked like a barge then !
They ripped her apart ! Took all the upper decks off &
Proably used her for shooting practice ? Maybe Iam
wrong ! But It seammed to me that they might have been
worryed about the reactors leaking ? So Iam guessing
they melted her all the way or made another ship with
her Hull ? Anyway I just wanted to say hi ! And I know
some of a few old buddys here in San Diego still
