Back To Reading Memories

When on the Long Beach I worked on the AN/SPG-49 Radar, which would rather breakdown than go operational. I had some really good guys working for me that made the job easier. I also had some help from Radar 4 Ed Guzzo who used to volunteer, usually late at night. He would offer to read the schematic while I did the trouble shooting. At some point I would be talking to Ed, saying Ed, "What's next?". No reply from Ed. As I stood up to see what he was doing, I found him fast asleep. Ed became known as the sailor with the BUTTON. When ever he sat down the button prevailed. He's a great friend to this date.
